They are saved only in the browser on the device you added them on, up to 26 cards. Clearing your browser data or moving to another device loses them - an export from the Boxes screen is the only way to carry them across

Signing in is free, uses a one-time emailed code with no password, saves your cards to your account, backs them up as you go, syncs them to every device you sign in on, and raises the limit to 52 cards

Yes, once you sign in. Your cards and review history sync to every device you sign in on, so you can add words on a laptop and review them later on your phone

Syncing is automatic - it runs a couple of seconds after you add or change a card, and again whenever a device comes back online. If one device looks out of date, open the Account screen and tap Sync now

It immediately pushes this device's latest changes to your account and pulls down anything your other devices have added, instead of waiting for the automatic sync

You'll find it on the Account screen when you're signed in. Reach for it if one device is showing an older set of cards than another

Only you. Signed out, your cards live in your browser's own storage on that one device and are never sent anywhere

Signed in, they're also saved to your account so they follow you across devices - kept in our database (Supabase), where each account can read only its own data. Either way the app works fully offline, and your changes sync up the next time you're online

That is deliberate. A card you miss stays in today's queue and comes round again after the other due cards, so you can keep practising it until it sticks

Answering it correctly afterwards clears it from today but does not promote it - a card you forgot once starts the next day back in Box 1, however many tries it took. Today's review is finished only when every due card has been answered correctly, which is why the counter shows cards left rather than a percentage

Open the Import screen - from the Add screen tap Import from a file or your AI, or from Boxes tap Import. Tap Copy a prompt: it copies a ready-made request that tells the AI to reply in the exact JSON shape the app reads

Add what you want after the "Notes for the AI:" line - for example "20 German B1 words, each with a simple example sentence and its English translation" - then paste the whole thing into ChatGPT, Claude, or any other AI. Paste its reply into the box on the Import screen, or use the file picker if you saved it as a file

You'll see a preview before anything is added: cards that are too long or already in your deck are flagged, and nothing is saved until you confirm

Yes. Sign in, open the Account screen, and under AI generation tap Card-back language - pick any language from the list

The Generate with AI button on the Add screen then writes the meaning, and any example sentence, in that language. The default is "Match my browser", which follows your device's language

The card limit. A free account holds 52 cards; Pro holds 520. Topics, search, import and export, backup and sync all work the same on both, signed in or not

Pro is $1.99/month or $18.99/year, started or cancelled on the Account screen. More Pro features - statistics, adjustable box intervals and shared card sets - are planned

Payment runs entirely on Stripe's own checkout page - QuintaCapsa never sees or stores your card details

You can cancel any time from the Account screen, and Pro stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for
